I had a big weekend planned - dinner with some friends at my house on Friday night, a decent ride on Saturday morning, a sail in Gosford on Saturday afternoon, water taxi shenanigans on Sunday morning and then walking across the bridge in the afternoon.
Unfortunately it all came a cropper early into the plans.
Dinner was great, a few extra wines canceled the morning ride, so I set off in the car to Gosford at around midday.
I was going to Gosford for a shakedown sail with a friend on a boat that he bought a couple of months ago. We are entering the National championships on it in two weeks time, so we thought it might be a good idea to actually go for a sale before we take on all comers.
I felt pretty ordinary on the way to Gosford, but just put it down to drinks the night before, but by the time I arrived there I knew all was not right. A quick toilet stop at Gosford McDonalds confirmed things were not perfect, and by the time I got to the boat I was sweating buckets and feeling very ordinary.
I played with spinnaker fittings on the boat for about 20 minutes, called off the sail and got back in the car.
Another stop at McDonalds beckoned, and then the long long trip down the F3. The shoulder was closed most of the way due to them trying to make the whole thing 3 lanes, and I was so concerned for my breakfast that I emptied out my backpack so at least I would have something to throw up into if I couldn't pull over and the urge took me - my leather seats are not copping that!
Luckily, I made it home unscathed, crawled into bed, and then spent the next 6 hours going at the toilet from both directions.
By about 10pm I was starting to feel on the mend, and by Sunday morning I was fine again, but feeling quite weak.
My plans were shattered, but I did get to stay at home all day on Sunday and play my new GameCube, watch Mark Webber suck it up as usual in the GP and wander down to see the bridge lit up that night.
My wife, who avoided me like the plague during my sickness, called me this morning at 9am with the start of the symptoms, and sure enough by 11 she was a bathroom regular, now she is starting to clear up.
We are patient 3 and 4 of people we know who have had it, hopefully we haven't passed it any further.
At least it is over quickly - I played a full game of Netball last night and did a good 45 minute hill workout tonight - I am not sure if I would rather have the Gastro or a cold that drags on for a week!

Clay,
Good to hear your better.
My cold is in its 4th week now.
Next week I hope to do some weekday early morning rides. Let me know if your up for it
Mornings are not my bag man - computers break in the morning.
I have been knocking off at 4.30 and going for a 5.00pm ride, but I think that might come to an end with daylight savings rapidly leaving us.
